Planning and Zoning
The Planning and Zoning Division is committed to achieving a livable City by maintaining and enhancing the quality of life for citizens. The division works to achieve these goals through its management of Comprehensive Land Use Planning, review of zoning applications and procedures, and implementing policy by ensuring compliance with the Zoning Ordinance and Comprehensive Plan in partnership with the commission and boards. The following commission and boards work with the staff to further the division's goals: Design Review Board, Board of Appeals, and Planning Commission.

If you have general comments or questions for the Planning and Zoning staff, or if you would like to send correspondence relating to a specific project or application to the members of the Boards listed below, please send your questions and/or comments to PZ@sandyspringsga.gov.
Note: Boards, including the Mayor and City Council, DO NOT accept the submittal of material at meetings. Any material and/or emails that an applicant or the public wish any Board to receive and review must be submitted to the Planning and Zoning staff two (2) weeks prior to the scheduled meeting date to be included in the official package forwarded to them.
