The Recreation and Parks Department’s administrative office is located at the Hammond Park Gymnasium, 705 Hammond Drive, Sandy Springs, GA 30328. Office hours are 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday-Friday and 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month.
All parks are open from sun-up to 11:00 p.m. except for Morgan Falls Overlook Park, River Park, the dog park, and Ridgeview Park which are open from sun-up to sun-down.

The Sandy Springs Historic Site and Park also have facility rentals available for weddings, reunions, parties, rehearsal dinners, company picnics, business meetings and retreats. Visit the Heritage Sandy Springs website for further information at heritagesandysprings.org.
Groups are invited to use pavilions, on a first-come, first-served basis. If you bring a picnic lunch to a park, for example, and a pavilion is not being used, you are welcome to use it. However, if a group has reserved a pavilion in advance for an event such as a family reunion, it may not be used during the reserved time by another individual or group. A permit is required for guaranteed use. At Overlook Pavilion Section C is always open to the public.

Please allow up to 5 business days for approval. Once approved, a permit number will be given to you by phone (and email if provided). You will have 5 days from the date of approval to pay for the rental in full, or you will lose your reservation. Checks should be made out to the City of Sandy Springs.

The outdoor tennis and basketball courts at Hammond Park are open to the public on a first-come first-served basis and have no associated usage charge. Tennis courts may be reserved for free play in up to one hour and a half (1 ½) time periods at no charge. You can book through the Recreation and Parks office and online. Please note: No team play/ matches, drills, or private lessons are allowed.
Checks, cash, Visa, MasterCard, or American Express are acceptable methods of payment. Checks should be made out to the City of Sandy Springs.
As adopted in Ordinance No. 2006-02-11 Chapter 8 Article 2 Section 4 (i): Pets. All pets must be on a leash and the owner is responsible for disposal of pet waste. All pets are prohibited on athletic fields, unless written permission for such has been authorized by the City Manager or the Director of Recreation and Parks.
No, it is not permitted. As adopted in Ordinance No. 2006-02-11 Chapter 8 Article 2 Section 4 (a): Alcoholic beverages. It shall be unlawful for any person to possess and/or consume any alcoholic beverage, or be under the influence of alcoholic, malt and/or vinous beverage, within in any public park and/or within any building or facility under the supervision of the Sandy Springs Recreation and Parks Department unless such usage is expressly permitted by signage or published rules of the particular park or recreation building.
Yes, with the exception of Overlook Park. Amplified sound and live music is prohibited at Overlook Park.

The Fulton County Arts Council’s Abernathy Arts Center is located in Sandy Springs and provides quality art instruction and offers a broad range of day and evening classes for adults and children. The Arts Center Web site can be found at www.fultonarts.org.

Reasonable accommodations are provided to enable the individual’s successful participation in a program. Some minimum eligibility requirements (such as age, level of participation) may be required in order to participate.

Yes. Scholarships are available upon request for children ages 4–17 made available through a grant provided by local organization, and distributed through the non-profit Friends of Sandy Springs.
Scholarships are awarded on a first come first served basis and are only awarded once per calendar year per participant.
Request must be submitted with proof of residency and/or a letter from the school’s cafeteria proving that the participant receives free/reduced lunch. Participants who don’t receive free/reduced lunch through their school will be evaluated on a case by case basis and can only be approved by the department director. Award amount varies based on funding.
