The Fire Marshal's Office is responsible for activities that include:

Counties with more than 100,000 persons and municipalities with more than 45,000 persons are mandated by law to enforce the state's minimum rules and regulations on such buildings in their areas of jurisdiction. The Sandy Springs Fire Marshal's Office is charged with enforcing "Rules and Regulations for the State Minimum Fire Safety Standards" as adopted by the State Fire Commissioner. The Fire Marshal's Office is the authority having jurisdiction (AHJ) in these matters for the incorporated city of City of Sandy Springs.
