The fire investigators handle all investigations of suspicious and arson fires within the City of Sandy Springs.

Fire InvestigationThe fire investigator responds to incidents involving:

  • Fire believed to be intentionally set 

  • Fires involving juveniles 

  • Fires involving a fatality 

  • Fires involving a high dollar loss 

  • Acts of terrorism 

  • Other related hazards and/or fires requested by the on-scene incident commander

The primary responsibilities of the fire investigator are to determine the origin and cause of a fire scene set forth in NFPA 921.
