ZIP Code to Reflect Sandy Springs Addresses
Citizens with a 30350 ZIP code will soon be able to write “Sandy Springs” on all their mail instead of “Atlanta.” Sandy Springs Mayor Eva Galambos and Rep. Tom Price (R-Ga.) worked together with the U.S. Postal Service, Atlanta District, to have the designation changed. The change will be effective Oct. 1 for everyone with a 30350 ZIP code. The U.S. Postal Service already recognizes addresses with the 30328 ZIP code as Sandy Springs addresses.
Newell Rubbermaid to Donate Refuse Containers
Newell Rubbermaid is donating 170 Rubbermaid Brute WeatherGuard refuse containers to the City for placement at all MARTA stops along Roswell Road. The containers, worth about $150,000, are part of Sandy Springs’ drive to cut down on litter and graffiti. The City also recently adopted Fulton County’s strict litter ordinance and launched “I Spy,” a program to fight litter and graffiti.
