Incentive Program Helps Attract Corporate Headquarters

Graphic Packaging Holding Company will be the first business to take advantage of the City of Sandy Springs’ new economic development incentive program. The program was approved last October by the City Council and offers a variety of incentives and assistance options for businesses. Incentives available for qualifying businesses include expedited permit processing, waiver of permit, impact fees and business and occupations taxes.

“I commend the collaborative effort put forth by the City of Sandy Springs to make this project a reality. The incentives were a key factor in our decision to relocate to the city,” said Phil Geminder, Vice President of Graphic Packaging Business Systems.

“We are honored that Graphic Packaging Holding Company has chosen the City of Sandy Springs for their new corporate headquarters.” said Sandy Springs Mayor Eva Galambos. “The goal of the economic development incentive program is to help attract or retain companies that make an investment in Sandy Springs, and the city is committed to targeting new opportunities to maintain a competitive edge.”

Graphic Packaging is making a significant investment, and the move will transfer nearly 300 jobs to the city. It is estimated the project will generate approximately $356,000 in property taxes. The corporate headquarters will include the renovation of an existing 86,525 square-foot-office building and construction of a new 23,000 square-foot-facility at RiverEdge Summit.

Graphic Packaging International, Inc., a subsidiary of Graphic Packaging Holding Company (NYSE: GPK), is a leading provider of paperboard packaging solutions for a wide variety of products to food, beverage and other consumer products companies.
