Everyone knows a moth can’t resist a flame. Same principle with people. Light your shop windows, your storefronts, your ground floor offices, and watch what happens. Instant people. Just like that, you’ve made your part of Sandy Springs a lot brighter. Not to mention friendlier, warmer, and more inviting. And the cost? Pennies a night. Even Scrooge would approve.

Guidelines and Contest Information

The competition is open to all businesses within the Sandy Springs city limits. The goal is to foster a positive community spirit and light up the holiday season around Sandy Springs. Businesses wishing to compete must complete the registration form.

All participating businesses will be judged on the decorated fronts of their locales visible from the street. The holiday d├ęcor should represent the Holiday Spirit of Sandy Springs, and be expressed in an inviting and festive way for all consumers and visitors to the community. It is not intended to be promotional in nature, but rather a celebration of the season.

All participating businesses may depict a holiday theme(s) of their choice. The holiday chosen must be relative to the time of year and fall within a 60 day window of November 7 to January 7.

Judging Criteria:

  1. Creativity and Originality
  2. Best Expression of Theme
  3. Best use of Lighting
  4. Best use of Available Space
  5. Overall Design Quality and Presentation

The judging for the 2013 competition will take place during a 2-day period: Dec. 10 and Dec. 11. All businesses are requested to turn their lights on at 5:30 p.m. and keep them on until midnight.
